To the editor:

In December, 2006 the parishioners of St. Edward Church met to discuss its future. Staff and parishioners recognized that our present campus size does not allow for additional facilities and have sufficient parking.

At that meeting parishioners agreed that we would stay at our present location and buy adjacent properties as they became available. This option was chosen instead of property out of town and moving from our spiritual and historic roots.

To the editor:

I was out to the Oddville Avenue park this past Saturday and noticed that construction on the parking place has stopped. The city and county started several weeks ago to build a parking place for the recreation events that would be held in that area of the park.

I noticed that there were two pieces of equipment sitting there. They have not been moved for several weeks. Wonder what happened?

To the editor:

I would like to publicly commend Harrison Memorial Hospital and Women's Health of Cynthiana for the care I recently received. Last month as I prepared for surgery and a six week recovery, many friends and family were surprised to hear that I was not traveling to Lexington for such services. But as visitors came by during my surgery, and later to my room, they were pleasantly surprised.

On behalf of St. Edward School, Northside Elementary School, and Harrison County High School, we would like to thank the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District for their generous grant, which afforded us the opportunity to participate in a water watch stream project on Edgewater Pike on Monday, May 19.
