All letters to the editor must be confirmed before they make it to print.
This means that someone from the Cynthiana Democrat must call the person who submits the letter and verify that they in fact did send that letter.
On Monday, my office mate Robin Smiley, smiled and gave me a letter to confirm.
Nothing out of the ordinary here, except for that grin on Robin’s face.
The job of confirming these letters usually falls to me. I don’t mind. It’s a quick and painless process.

  • Memories of lace curtains. apple trees and dodging parents

August looms and as it does it brings with it the beginning of a turn in the season, but it hasn’t always been that way. Looking back and remembering Augusts when I was young, a longgg time ago, it seemed then to be one more long month of summer vacation stretching out in the brilliant sunshine.
One had done quite a bit of running, swimming, exploring and generally aggravating mothers by the first of August, and we kids were looking for new ways to use up the riches of no school and good weather.

  • Excited about a new season of Game of Thrones!

Regardless of what banner you fly within the world of Westeros, the time has come to return to the magical land once more.
Game of Thrones Season 7 aired it’s first episode on July 27th, and it was one Hell of a way to kick off a season. Last seasons conclusion left fans with a decent idea of where the story would be picking up upon it’s return, but the GOT show runners pulled off one of the most impactful season premieres of any show I’ve ever seen.
