  • Longest days, gardens and Hilltop music

When these words are in print, the longest day will have passed and the shorter days will have begun. Often we hear folks say, “After the Fourth summer is gone.”

  • The monk and the tiger...a lesson for us all

Mindfulness is something far too many of us neglect to practice.
I personally see my neglect of practice manifest itself in a number of undesirable ways. My blood is quick to boil when a slow-moving vehicle pulls out in front of me, regardless of whether or not I’m in a hurry.
I get far too angry over situations that are out of my control such as an election, or some idiot talking trash on an online game. Sometimes I lash out at friends or loved ones over situations that aren’t really worth all the fuss. I take things too personally.

    Americans are a fickle bunch.
It doesn’t take long for the novelty of something new and exciting to wear off and become mundane and uninteresting.

For those of you who don’t remember, the Fabulous Fourth celebration that we have enjoyed locally, is a relatively new phenomena.

  • What a fantastic summer it has been!

June didn’t disappoint and July is sure to be just as great.
Last week, Cynthiana Main Street had the pleasure of participating in The Longest Day of Play. It was great seeing all those kids enjoying outdoor games and activities.
With the generosity of A-Action Pest Control, Cynthiana Main Street gave away 10 bicycles that evening.  The Longest Day of Play is definitely a great event in our community and the organizers do a fantastic job each year.
