  • A prosecutor’s perspective

    It’s the time of year that we gather together with our friends and family and celebrate the holidays. It’s also the time of year when you are more likely to be the victim of theft, burglary and fraud.  
    Thefts from vehicles and home burglaries peak in November and December.  Here are some tips on how you can avoid becoming a victim this holiday season.  
    When shopping, lock your vehicle and don’t leave items like gifts, cell phones, tablets, laptops, purses, and shopping bags visible in your car.

    Virtually all, well-intentioned.

  • Taking a Closer Look

    With candy canes, bright lights and Christmas trees in every window, the season is unmistakable. The time when the world, or our corner of it, seems to be just a bit kinder, with smiles much wider and toes tapping to joyous music.

  • Societal issues cause a dilemma

    Can you hear it?
    It’s a collective rolling over in the grave. Our ancestors have to be puzzled and saddened by today’s headlines as they look down on a gone-wild society. Not only globally, but locally as well.
    I know I am terribly saddened.
    I’ve been asking myself all week how a grown man can walk into a home and stab a 6-year-old child to death?
    There is a not-guilty plea in the Woodford County case, however, the defendant has allegedly admitted to officials that he stabbed the boy.
