  • A few things to remember during yard sale season

    ‘Tis the season for cleaning and pricing items that have long been forgotten by homeowners.
    ‘Tis the season for yard sales.
    Any homeowner will admit that in a short time, accumulation of what we think to be precious items that must always be near us, tend to add up to one cluttered room or basement.
    When was the last time you dared to venture up stairs to find your mother’s old tea pitcher that has not been used since she kicked the can over 10 years ago?

  • Phones are nice for proof of insurance, but keep your card, too

    On June 25 a stack of new laws will take effect while others are groundwork for future changes.
    For example, House Bill 180 mandates that the Kentucky Board of Education come up with a teacher, or certified personnel, evaluation plan.
    However, they have until the 2014-15 school year to get that accomplished.
    Most people who work outside of the home have to go through some sort of annual performance evaluation. It’s a time when strengths and opportunities for improvement are identified and then work goes on.

  • Seperate the "wants" from the "needs"

    How many of you out there know the difference between a “want” and a “need?”
    Sometimes I struggle with the difference when my stubbornness kicks into gear.
    Anyway, last week was my typical week. However, I do recall one event that seemed to consume me on every level possible.
    I am a movie guru.
    I have enjoyed watching movies since I was very young, according to my parents and as indicated by some of my grades from college.

    Often in a magnetic form, which is good for refrigerator posting, it helps the potential attendee remember the upcoming event every time they go to the fridge for a snack or soda.

  • It's never too early to start leaving a legacy

    With all of the unfortunate incidents that have taken place recently, I began to think of a very important thing just the other day.
    Legacy.
    When we are younger, which I claim to still be at only 26 years old, we never give the term “legacy” any thought for the most part.
    Why would anyone ever think how they want someone to remember them when they are still at a young age?
    Well until here recent, I was in the same boat.
    I always put off the task of starting my legacy till tomorrow.
