The Cynthiana Fire Department was called to a downtown structure fire at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday. Paula’s Restaurant, which was located in what was once the Elk’s Building, was a total loss. Firefighters from Paris and the Harrison County Volunteer Fire Department joined in the battle that lasted well into the night. See the multi media slides below for more photos by Robin and Lee.

Fifty first responders were on the scene in downtown Cynthiana on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 7, as a structure fire at the two-story building on Walnut Street that housed Paula’s Family Restaurant.
“We got the call of a fire in progress at 2:55 p.m. and were on the scene in less than one minute,” said fire chief Jay Sanders of the Cynthiana Fire Department.
