  • Harrison cross country runs well in Capital View Classic

“It was a great day for our runners and I was happy for them,” said Coach Danny Simpson after the Capitol View Classic Saturday in Frankfort.

The race, which was run at The Archives on a hilly, rugged course, featured many of the better teams from central Kentucky. It was also the rare event where all of the participants were awarded a medal for the hard work that they put in during the day. Both the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams finished fourth in the team standings in this event.

  • Breds take Soccer Senior Night over Frankfort 6-0

Senior Johnson Garrison scored the first two goals of the game, the first with only nine minutes gone and the second three minutes later, to lead the Harrison County Soccer Thorobreds to a 6-0 Senior Night thumping of the Frankfort Panthers.

Coach Nick Hill substituted liberally as the Panthers were not in the same caliber as the Thorobreds on this Thursday night.

After Garrison’s goals, it took the Breds nine more minutes to score when freshman Grant Carr took an assist from senior D.A. Wiglesworth and drove the ball into the net for a 3-0 lead.
