  • HCHS cross country runners show improvement at Mason County

“This is a meet where our athletes like the course,” noted Coach Danny Simpson. “It is fast and rolling and on this cool, dry day, we had our best team performance of the year.”
For the fourth straight meet the field was crowded with nearly 200 runners in each race so the going was tough in the crowd.
According to Simpson, it was like a state meet with the numbers and the talent so it was a good experience for the athletes.

So, it’s no surprise to me that the cute little yellow flowering things I plopped in the dirt under my little something-or-other tree out front aren’t doing well.
Even the tree, half-leafy and half-not, looks like it needs something, but I don’t know what. Our neighbors all have lovely gardenesque areas under their trees and elsewhere. I’m thinking they know a secret.
