Any time a team is doing badly in football the answer is change the quarterback or fire the coach or both.
Such is the case at the University of Kentucky and also for many other teams. Let’s run down the list.
First, everyone is all too aware of the grand success of Maxwell Smith at UK. The Lexington media beats this to death, but the fact is he did lead the team Saturday to the first SEC win of the year.
Granted, it was over a horrible team in Ole Miss, but nevertheless Kentucky won.
Freshman Brooke Frederick qualifies for state meet
While running her best race of the year freshman Brooke Frederick led the Harrison County Fillies team to a sixth place finish in the Class 2A Region Four meet Saturday in Grant County. By doing so, Frederick became the first Harrison County runner to qualify for the state meet since Ryan Puckett in 2008.
“This will be a great experience for Brooke and for the Fillies’ team,” said Coach Danny Simpson. “She has certainly earned it by working hard and racing well.”
