The family of the late Stanley Lemons, magistrate of District 1 in Harrison County, received a plaque from Judge Alex Barnett during the Dec. 9 court meeting. Lemons’ daughter, Debbie Lemons Palmer, front center, has been appointed to fill the remaining term of her father. The center of the plaque is Stanley Lemons’ name plate that appeared before him during court proceedings.

The Christmas spirit isn’t scarce on Elmarch Avenue.

For decades, Cynthiana and Harrison County residents have come to 102 S. Elmarch and 102 N. Elmarch to admire the abundance of Christmas lights and decorations.

“I thought we was gonna have to get a cop,” said Charlie Carson about the traffic from onlookers.

“They start asking us in October, ‘When you gonna put up your Christmas lights?’” said Charlie’s wife Peggy.

Another of the individuals accused for his alleged role in one of six area bank robberies, has entered a guilty plea to his charges.

Miguel David Ayala, 30, Cynthiana, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Lexington on Dec. 10 to aiding and abetting bank robbery.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Lexington, Ayala admitted that on March 19, he drove Jeffrey Allen Pratt to Mt. Olivet to rob the Integra Bank. He told authorities he waited while Pratt robbed the bank and drove him from the robbery.
