  • Living an awe-full life

    The other day I listened to an interview with Alexandra Horowitz as she discussed her book, “On Looking: Eleven Walks with Expert Eyes.”
    She lives in New York City with a dog and a toddler, and frequently walks around her neighborhood, traveling the same route, passing the same buildings and businesses and trees and traffic.
    After taking the same walk many hundreds of times, she realized she never noticed where she was going. So, the next time out she decided to notice as much as she could.

  • HMH awarded Best Places to Work in Kentucky for third consecutive year

    Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2013. The awards program was created in 2005 and is a project of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) and Best Companies Group.

    Charles Aiden Sheats-Griess
    Charles Aiden Sheats-Griess was born to Justine L. Sheats and Clayton C. Todd Griess of Cynthiana on Dec. 14, 2012 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    He weighed 4 lbs. 14 oz.
    Maternal grandparents are Charles W. and Lisa B. Sheats of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are Phyllis Sheats and the late Charles Edward Sheats and Justin and Lois Bell, all of Cynthiana.

  • Dunnavan-Simpson plan March wedding

    Kim Pickett announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of her brother, Matthew Douglas Simpson of Cynthiana to Elizabeth Ann Dunnavan of Maysville.
    Simpson is the son of the late Gary and Carolyn Simpson.
    Dunnavan is the daughter of Carol  Dunnavan and the late Jay Dunnavan.
    Simpson is a 2002 Harrison County graduate. He is employed as worship minister of Antioch Mills Christian Church and as vocalist and rhythm guitar player for the Christian rock band, My Heart Remains.
