  • Citizens should seek truth, hold elected officials accountable

    To the editor:

On the last weekend of August, we joined almost 100 Kentuckians from Lexington (12 buses altogether from Kentucky), on a trip to Washington DC to attend the Glenn Beck “Restore Honor” rally at the Lincoln Monument. It coincided with the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the same location.

  • What is wrong with this picture?

Sunday in another disappointing outing for Bengal fans; the Bengals lost again to the Patriots.

The loss wasn’t an upset particularly, but the way the game was played should have been upsetting to Bengal hierarchy, Marvin Lewis and the Bengal nation.

The team, though expressing supreme confidence that it would win, put about as poor of an effort forth in the game, especially in the first half, that I have seen for a while by players not in Ram outfits.

  • Breds rush past Newport in Hall of Fame game

Harrison County rushed for 295 yards Friday night at the Athletic Complex as they held off Newport’s Wildcats, 21-14, in the first home game of the season.

The Wildcats (1-2) ran for 309 for the game but were held to only 77 in the second half as the Breds’ defense stiffened.

It was a contrast in styles as Newport went for the big play and had a couple while the Thorobreds worked on controlling the tempo and thus the game.
