  • Marshall-Stanfield to marry Oct. 20

    Bryson and Karsyn Stanfield announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their mom and dad, Kristen Marshall and Josh Stanfield.
    Marshall is the daughter of Tim and Pam Marshall of Texas and the granddaughter of Paul and Thelma Zint of Sadieville.
    Stanfield is the son of Carol Hunt of Cynthiana and Doug Stanfield of Georgetown. He is the grandson of Mary and Ollie Guy of Carlisle and Nina Stanfield of Cynthiana and the late Clyde Stanfield.

    Ashtyn Opal Webb was born to Donald Webb and Jamie (Wheeler) Webb of Fallon, Nev. on Sept. 13, 2012 at Banner Churchill Community Hospital Fallon, Nev.
    She weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz., and is welcomed by her sister, Kyra Lynn Webb.
    Maternal grandparents are Dills and Mary Wheeler of Bronston, Ky. (formerly of Cynthiana) and Teresa and Gary Browning of Lexington, Ky.
    Paternal grandparents are Johnnie and Carolyn Brooks of Cynthiana.

    Tony Everett Bailey was born to Jesse and Rachel Bailey of Mississippi. He weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz., and is welcomed by his brother, Michael.
    Grandparents are William and Wendy Bailey of Crestwood, Ky. and Randy and Dee Dee Sudduth of Alabama.
    Paternal great-grandparents are the late William and Nina Bailey, and maternal great-grandparents are the late John and Mary Nell Walker, all of Cynthiana.

  • Harrison County Homemakers to host annual Bluegrass Area meeting next week

    On Friday, Oct. 19 Harrison County Extension Homemakers expect 200 visitors to Cynthiana as they host the Bluegrass Area Annual Meeting. The event will begin at 9 a.m. with morning refreshments and the business meeting at 9:30 a.m. at Cynthiana Christian Church. There are over 2,750 members in the nine counties in the Bluegrass Extension Area of Bourbon, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Harrison, Madison, Nicholas, Powell and Scott counties, the largest membership in the 14 Extension areas of the state.
