  • Cynthiana DAR to meet July 13

    The Cynthiana Chapter of the DAR met at Duncan Tavern on June 8.
    Jayne Newman introduced Mariah Evans, KSDAR Registrar. She gave a tour and orientation of what the John Fox Jr. Library has to offer for genealogy research.
    The new Regent, Gail Kesterson, called the meeting to order.
    The DAR Ritual, Pledge of Allegiance, American’s Creed, and the Preamble were recited, followed by singing of the Star Spangled Banner.

  • HMH dedicates new artwork for dining area

    In November 2012, Harrison Memorial Hospital completed the rehabilitation services department and cafeteria renovation project, which provides additional square footage, more equipment and more offerings for individuals in the service area.
    Within the renovation of the cafeteria, HMH provided artwork from donations made in memory of Diana Ramsey Monroe, who was a dedicated HMH employee for 31 years.  At the time of her passing Monroe was the Health Information Manager at HMH.

    Mariam Naziripour, is a recent graduate of Marymount Manhattan College with a degree in Art History with emphasis in literature.
    She is the daughter of Susan Herrington Naziripour and Ali Naziripour and the granddaughter of Ed and Janice Herrington.
    During her senior year, she was a research assistant to a professor who is writing a book on American Literature.

    Eastern Kentucky University’s College of Health Sciences announces that Macy Gasser has been placed on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters.
    This honor recognizes achievement of a scholastic average of 3.50 or above on specified minimums of academic work.
    She is the daughter of Adam and Sheila Gasser of Cynthiana.
