    The Harrison County Young Farmers is planning their local banquet on March 25, 2013 at the Harrison County Extension Office. Meal will begin at 7 p.m. with guest speaker Warren Beeler with the Ky Dept. of Agriculture to follow.

    March 8 -- Darrell L. Terhune, 76, was issued a citation for failure to wear seat belt on East Bridge Street.
    March 8 -- Rebecca S. Pugh, 47, was issued a citation on New Lair Road for speeding 11 mph over limit.
    March 8 -- Bryan C. Scherbert, 52, was cited for speeding 10 mph over limit on Safety Way Road.
    March 8 -- Suncerea D. Graham, 39, was cited for no registration plate, failure to maintain insurance (owner), and no registration receipt on New Lair Road.

    Traffic Cases
    The following information from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office indicates drivers and/or owners whose vehicles were involved in accidents.
    March 9 – At 1:53 a.m., a non-injury accident was reported on Hall Lane 10 miles from town. Vickie Shultz was backing into a driveway and struck a parked vehicle owned by April Creech.
    March 8 – At 7:48 p.m., a non-injury accident was reported on KY 1054 13 miles from town. Daniel Perkins was attempting to back into a driveway and struck another vehicle owned by Amber Perkins.

    According to the Office of Employment and Training (OET), the Kentucky unemployment rate has dropped below 8 percent for the first time in four years.
