  • Peddlers Mall owners use previous experience in their new business venture

    After spending nine years in Harrison County, a Michigan family has opened a store that they have several years of history in running.
    Mona and Bobby Holman moved to Harrison County nine years ago when they decided to start their very own family.
    “I always wanted my children to be around their grandparents,” said Mona. “We moved here to be close to my father, who at the time was the only grandparent left.”
    However, shortly after moving from Waterford, Mich., to
    Harrison County, Mona said her father passed away.

  • Christians are not limited to just three free sins

    It’s not every day that I get “three free sins” in the mail, but today I did.
    Unfortunately, I used them up even before I got the envelope opened.
    I’m talking about Bible teacher, author and Christian radio personality Steve Brown’s new book, “Three Free Sins,” subtitled, “God’s Not Mad at You.”
    The title comes from Steve’s former call-in radio program where he gave callers three free sins — six if they called on a cell phone.

  • Indian Creek Homemakers discuss scholarship funds

    The Indian Creek Homemakers’ Club meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. The meetings are held at the Cynthiana Christian Church and include a discussion of ongoing club activities, an educational lesson of importance to the club, as well as a potluck luncheon that is always enjoyed by all.   Visitors are welcome throughout the year and encouraged to visit.

  • Anderson inducted into the Kentucky Transportation Hall of Fame

    Patsy Pratt Anderson was recently inducted into the Kentucky Transportation Hall of Fame administered by the University of Kentucky Transportation Center. She is the first woman to receive this honor, which recognizes individuals who by their foresight, dedication, leadership, perseverance, and integrity have significantly enhanced transportation systems in the Commonwealth.
