  • Football season predictions

Alabama will win the championship again. Nice short article.
I’m a little surprised at the preseason polls that I see putting Texas A&M up really high in the national picture and not giving LSU much of a chance to compete with Alabama and Georgia for the overall SEC title.
Johnny Manziel has the media in a frenzy over the Aggies and I must say the schedule favors a good showing but not a grand power rating.

  • Harrison County volleyball hopes to rebound from last year

“It was our first losing year in 10 years,” Coach Bill Faulkner said of the 2012 season. “We were 14-18, but could have been even with a few breaks. We will be better this year.”
The volleyball Fillies have six seniors returning, three with varsity experience and three others with some varsity and a lot of junior varsity experience.
Two other sophomores return with starting experience, one a libero and one at left outside hitter, so Faulkner is feeling pretty good about his experienced players.

  • Harrison County cheerleaders preparing for another exciting season

Coach Jessica Reynolds and the Harrison County cheerleaders do not actually have an off season.
At the end of each school year the seniors move on to college or to a chosen field and new young ladies take their place.
The work continues with new programs and material put in place for the next year of competition and cheering on the Fillies and Breds.
