  • Summer concert series continues to grow; Eric Cummins Band this Friday

    The Chamber of Commerce’s Summer Concert Series continued to grow in its second weekend.  Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy great music in downtown Cynthiana. The Blue Collar Rebels and the Pike Street Opry brought rock and country to a lively crowd.

    The third concert in the series occurs this Friday, July 5, and will feature the music of the Eric Cummins Band.

    Traffic Cases
    June 16 – At 7:09 a.m., an injury accident was reported on KY 3003 six miles from town. Stephen Kiskaden was traveling on KY 3003 when he dropped off the road and over-corrected and struck an earth embankment causing him to overturn.
    June 19 – At 9:20 p.m., a non-injury accident was reported on KY 36 14 miles from town. Ronald Howard was parked in a parking-lot when his vehicle came out of gear causing it to strike two other parked cars.

    On May 24, 2013, Logan Duncan received his diploma for the Combination Structural and Pipe Welding Program from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology located in Troy, Ohio. After successfully completing a nine-month program, Duncan holds certificates in GTAW, SMAW and FCAW as an AWS Certified Welder.
    He is the son of Gary and Teresa Duncan.

    Eastern Kentucky University has announced that 2,749 students earned Dean’s List honors for the Spring 2013 semester.
    Local students honored are:
    Brigette Bianca Kunkel of Sadieville, sophomore, Harrison County High School graduate majoring in Wildlife Management
    Mari Kaitlin Palmer of Sadieville, senior, Anderson County High School graduate majoring in Wildlife Management
    Kelcie L. Fish of Sadieville, junior, Home School graduate majoring in Pre-Occupational Science

    An anticipated controversial fiscal court meeting ended with only formalities.

    On behalf of the Harrison County Fire District, board members Barry Snapp and Anthony Ecklar visited the fiscal court to discuss the need for an appointment by the court.

  • Biancke’s will open soon, says owner

     

    A definite date has still not been set for the re-opening of the historic Biancke’s Restaurant  following a devastating fire on Wednesday, June 26.
