  • Mongiardo joins HMH medical staff

    Dan Mongiardo, M.D., Otolaryngologist (Ears, Nose and Throat specialist) joins the Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) Specialty Clinic in association with Dr. Victor Lawson. Otolaryngology or ENT  (ear, nose, and throat) is the branch of medicine and surgery that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the head and neck. His practice will include both adult and pediatric medicine and surgical services in ears, nose and throat disorders.

  • Perennial Plant of the Year 2012 for the shade

    For some gardeners the tactile experience of maintaining the garden is not really what they’re after.  I love the whole process but I realize that most people just want things to look good without too much fuss.   
    As our farm grows on the 4-legged and 2-legged side of things I am noticing some perennial plant neglect.
    So, I do need to do some rearranging so that the mixed borders get easier to care for not more difficult. Therein lays the mission of the Perennial Plant Association’s “Plant of the Year” program.

    Tpr. David Jones, public affairs officer for Kentucky State Police Post 6 in Dry Ridge, taught traffic sign recognition skills to children visiting the KSP Safety Town exhibit at the 2012 Kentucky State Fair in Louisville.

  • Parkside Manor holds family picnic

    Parkside Manor hosted a Family Picnic on Saturday, Sept. 8. Residents invited their family and friends for a free dinner, games, music and prizes. There were carved watermelon baskets, ‘Minute to Win’ games, karaoke and tons of fun. Above, Teresa Bates, resident, participates in the ring toss.  Wanda Beckett, resident, Rebecca Roach, activity director, dance with employee’s children. Music was provided by volunteers David Cole and friends.
