    HCMS girls’ track closes dominate
    season with conference championship
    The Harrison County Middle School girls’ track team completed a very successful season on May 14 by finishing seventh of 49 schools in the KTCCCA Middle School State Championship.  
    The highlight of the year for Coach Alicia Glenn’s team was winning the Bluegrass Conference Middle School Championship.  This meet had 14 teams from all over central Kentucky competing for the first place prize.   

  • Bowlers That’s Us hosts golf scramble at Kincaid State Park course

    Bowlers That’s Us, Harrison County Relay for Life team, hosted a four-person team golf scramble at Kincaid Lake State Park golf course.
    Proceeds went to benefit the Harrison County Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).

    The following information from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office indicates drivers and/or owners whose vehicles were involved in accidents.
    June 15 – At 6:02 p.m., an injury accident was reported to have occurred on KY 36. Lauren Tilman was traveling on KY 36 when a vehicle driven by Billy Hopkins, failed to yield to her causing her to collide with Hopkins.

    May 23 -- At 2:14 p.m., an Averitt Express truck, driven by
    Robert Anderson Jr., pulled a cable wire from the residence at 207 Old Lair Road.
    May 25 -- At 9:15 p.m., a Rodgers Park woman reported that she was being harassed by two people who wanted to clean her house.

  • Beagle-Campbell to wed July 9

    Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Beagle of Cynthiana announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Miranda Leigh, to Brett James Campbell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Campbell of Lexington, Ky.
    Beagle is a 2005 graduate of Paris High School and a 2010 graduate of Morehead State University with a BS in Health Promotion.
    Campbell is a 2005 graduate of Henry Clay High School and a 2009 graduate of Morehead State University with a BA in Sport Management.

    L. T. and Sue Williams will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 30.
    The couple were married on June 30, 1961 in Kelat, Ky. by J. Baldwin Stilz of Benson Methodist Church.

  • Kauffmans honored with dinner party

    William Joseph and Linda Sellers Kauffman of Huntsville, Ala., celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 12 at Grandmother’s House Restaurant. Their children hosted the gathering.
    The couple were married March 12, 1961 in Greenfield, Ohio. They have two sons, Billy (Leah) of Huntsville and Doug (Julie) of Hoover, Ala., and four grandchildren. Many out-of-state relatives attended the dinner party.

    Hannah Malee Duncan, daughter of Gary and Teresa Duncan of Cynthiana, has been selected as a finalist in the Pre-Teen Kentucky Scholarship and Recognition Program to be held July 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington.
