  • Davis to be guest speaker at the Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon Feb. 26

    The Cynthina-Harrison County Chamber of Commerce will be welcoming guest speaker Dr. Alison Davis at its Feb. 26 membership luncheon.
    Davis is the executive director of the Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky (CEDIK) that launched in fall of 2010.
    The luncheon, sponsored by Cynthiana Vision Center, will be held at Biancke’s from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Reservations may be made by contacting the Chamber at cynchamber@setel.com or by calling 234-5236.

  • HMH named one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky for 4th consecutive year

    Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2014. The awards program was created in 2005 and is a project of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) and Best Companies Group.

  • Extenstion Center to offer grain herbicide meeting on Feb. 18

    The Harrison County Extension Office will offer a Grain Herbicide meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 18 starting at noon with lunch. The meeting will be held at the Harrison County Extension Center’s large meeting room.
    Over the last few years corn and soybean acres have increased dramatically in Harrison County. As we prepare for the coming season it becomes important to use the best options to control weeds that might have become a problem.

  • McKee’s Farms to Food Banks work recognized

    Rep. Tom McKee was recently recognized by the Kentucky Non-Profit Network for his work with the Farms to Food Banks program.
    “Farms to Food Banks provides a new market for the surplus goods that our hardworking farmers produce, while making fresh, healthy foods available to our friends and neighbors in need,” said McKee.
