  • Parkside Manor holds family picnic

    Parkside Manor hosted a Family Picnic on Saturday, Sept. 8. Residents invited their family and friends for a free dinner, games, music and prizes. There were carved watermelon baskets, ‘Minute to Win’ games, karaoke and tons of fun. Above, Teresa Bates, resident, participates in the ring toss.  Wanda Beckett, resident, Rebecca Roach, activity director, dance with employee’s children. Music was provided by volunteers David Cole and friends.

  • Harrison County Sheriff's Department

    Sept. 5 – At 4:20 p.m., an injury accident was reported on US 62. Kevin Dierckens and Kristin Harrington were traveling on US 62 when they slowed down to allow a vehicle to turn. While slowing down Harrington was struck in the rear by Jasmine Franciso, causing Harrington to hit Dierckerson.
    Sept. 5 – At 6:21 p.m., a non-injury accident was reported on Pike St. Jessica Tumey was parked near the courthouse and was struck by an unknown vehicle.

    I never get tired of hearing that chilling phrase or the jets flying over after the National Anthem is played.
    Kentucky football, support it or not, is here again.
    During my college days, which were highlighted by watching players like Andre’ Woodson, Jacob Tamme, Keenan Burton, Wesley Woodyard, Rafael Little and of course Steve Johnson, I had an opportunity to experience some of the best UK football ever played.
