  • Frames ‘N Christian Things

    In business as Frames ‘N Things for 25 Years, Pat Terhune and her daughter Denise Lyons recognized a need for Harrison County.
    Now operating as Frames ‘N Christian Things, the store has taken on service to area churches and individuals for all things religious.
    Terhune said it wasn’t long after the announcement that Cynthiana’s Christian Bookstore would be closing that her daughter approached her about making sure area churches are able to get their study materials.

    The registration deadline for the Licking Valley Singers Fall Session is Friday, July 22. All are welcome and there are no auditions required. For information or registration, contact Karen Bear, 234-4393.

    An address was incorrectly listed in a recent Records report from the Cynthiana Police Department. Police received a report that a marijuana plant was in plain sight at 119 Second St., Apt. 2.

  • Kendall Brooke Perraut

    Kendall Brooke Perraut was born to Brad and Tiffany Perraut of Castle Rock, Colo. on May 21, 2011 at SkyRidge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colo. She weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz., and is welcomed by her brother Connor Perraut.
    Maternal grandparents are Billy and Diane Hicks.
    Paternal grandparents are Daryl and Charlotte Perraut and Billy and Betty Kearns.
    Great-grandparents are Bill Hicks, Ruby Moses, Ruth Ann Perraut, Ann Chamblian, and Marion and Wanda Zumwalt.

  • Combat cross-contamination with safe handling

    Summertime is when there are the most reported cases of food poisoning and stomach distress. One of the reasons could come from improper handling of meats. Make sure you’re keeping your family safe from harmful bacteria when grilling meat and poultry.
    Cross-contamination is how bacteria can be spread. Improper handling of raw meat, poultry and seafood can create an inviting environment for cross-contamination. As a result, harmful bacteria can spread to food and throughout the kitchen.

  • Museum Musings

    * Come help us celebrate the 17th anniversary of your Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum, located at the Rohs Theatre Building on South Walnut Street, during regular hours, Friday and Saturday, July 22-23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    * As it has for several years, WCYN will host Coffee Break from the museum on Friday, July 22. We encourage volunteers to come participate. The museum would not exist if it were not for the faithfulness and dedication of volunteers. Thanks to WCYN for their continued support.
