For those of you who may not have heard the news, Nicholas County Hospital announced Monday that it would be filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
At 5 p.m. of that same day, the hospital emergency room ceased accepting patients.
Since moving here, my wife and I have been amazed at the number of active 80 and 90 year olds in the county.
We are in awe of their spryness and ability to continue living on their own terms. I’ve had the pleasure of making friends and ministering to a couple in their mid-90s who still lived on their own until his recent passing.

The public is invited to a Mission Trip Fundraiser, hosted by Cornerstone Christian Church on Sunday, June 1 at 4 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce building.
All proceeds will go to the Honduras mission trip scheduled for July. Members are asking businesses to help them by donating items or baskets of items that can be auctioned off that evening and will give full recognition of your business at the auction and on their website.

Will be learning about Kirsten – a brave pioneer from Sweden who settles in Minnesota in 1854. Pre-registration is appreciated.
