  • Vaughns to be honored with 50th anniversary celebration Feb. 9

    Russell and Wanda Vaughn will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 9. They were married Feb. 8, 1964 at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with Harry Harper officiating the ceremony.
    The couple has three sons, Bradley (Emily), Andrew and Kiley (Mia) Vaughn, six grandchildren and a seventh on the way.
    The Vaughn’s invite family and friends to join in their celebration on Feb. 9 at Indian Creek Christian Church from 3-5 p.m. Cake and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. The couple requests no gifts.

  • Marshes to observe 60th anniversary

    John and Gaye Marsh will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Jan. 30. They were married Jan. 30, 1954.
    The couple has four children, Nathan and Sharon Marsh and Les and Lynda Marsh of Cynthiana, DeAnn and Alan Lear of Pikeville, N.C., and Sandra and Mark Koffman of Manchester Center, Vt.; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
    John is a retired colonel in the USMC and Gaye is a homemaker. Both are very active in the community of Cynthiana.

    HOUR OF DELIVERANCE
    The Hour of Deliverance Chapel will host a hymn sing on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. Several guests are planned for the event.
    Everyone is welcome to come and worship.
    The church is located at 120 Second St., Cynthiana. William Gaunce is the pastor.

  • Rotary holds January luncheon at EZ Pack

    On Jan. 23rd the Cynthiana Rotary Club held their weekly luncheon off-site at EZ Pack.  The lunch kicked off with a catered meal by The Vault while Doug Price, club president, discussed a few business items. The club was also introduced to Emily Ammerman who is the new Main Street Director for Cynthiana. She is scheduled to make a full presentation to Rotary in March. Lunch was followed by a guided tour of EZ Pack by Mike Smith, plant manager, who provided the group with a detailed and educational tour of the facility.

  • Charlotte Irene Fuson

    Charlotte Irene Fuson was born to Daniel and Lydia Fuson of Cynthiana on Nov. 13, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
    She weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz., and is welcomed by her sister, Makenna Fuson.
    Maternal grandparents are Kimberly Hughes and Paul Thiry of Lexington; maternal great-grandparents are Roger and Nancy Hughes and Joseph and Bettye Thiry.
    Paternal grandparents are Denise Wiglesworth Fuson and Joseph Blackaby of Cynthiana and Curt and Cynthia Fuson of Georgetown; paternal grandparents are Harold and Betty Wiglesworth and Edward and Irene Fuson.

  • Chapter’s Year in Review. . .

    Friendships have formed over the last 10 years and the fellowship together has been wonderful. The chapter looks forward to good times together in 2014 as they start their 11th year together.
    Year in review:
    Members met at Paula’s Restaurant in January and later played cards at the home of Betty Stoner. Ruth Ann Perraut was the hostess.
    February’s gathering was cancelled due to snow.
    Wanda Marsh hosted the March get-together with a lunch at Biancke’s followed by Bingo.
