  • McCann to hold auditions for his 10-minute play

    Local playwright, William McCann, who recently moved to Harrison County, announces that auditions for his 10-minute play “Three O’clock” will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Cynthiana Christian Church, 202 N. Main St. A single performance of “Three O’clock” will be performed on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 3 p.m. on the Performing Arts Stage, North Wing, at the 2012 Kentucky State Fair in Louisville.

    Traffic Cases
    The following information from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office indicates drivers and/or owners whose vehicles were involved in accidents.

    July 6 – At 6 p.m., an injury accident was reported on KY 1842. Rick Ball was driving on KY 1842 when he veered into the oncoming lane and struck an earth embankment, causing his car to flip onto its top.

  • Mallory accepted into art exhibition

    Local artist Wesley Mallory of Harrison County has his artwork, Point of Departure – Oil on Canvas, accepted into ViewPoint 44, 2012, a national juried art competition sponsored by the Cincinnati Art Club. This marks the 44th year for this annual competition which comprises 70 works by national artists in various media.

    July 27 promises to be an exciting night in downtown Cynthiana. The streets and local businesses will be filled with art of all types. Music, food, visual art, drama, fashion and dance will be found in abundance. There will be something for everyone.

  • Much expected of new parks and recreation board

    As summer is drawing to an end, I hope that recreation will be better defined in the near future.
    As many know by now, the county and the city have agreed to enter into an inter-local agreement which will combine all parks and recreation.
    First off, let me go on record as saying that I heavily support the decision of the county and city to do so.
