  • Singing songs of peace

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is attending the Christmas Eve service at my church.
With the lights dimmed, candles soften the sanctuary, soften faces, quiet the hearts of the people who have come.
Some come harried and hassled. Others come burdened and broken. All come seeking something, seeking peace.
At my church, it’s our tradition on Christmas Eve to sing of peace and silence. As we hold candles we sing, “Peace, peace, peace on earth and good will to all.”

  • Breds totally dominate Flyers Tuesday, 95-52

After a six-to-six tie early in the game, the Harrison County Thorobreds ran off a 17-to-four run on the way to a 95-52 rout of Franklin County Tuesday night in Cynthiana.
The Thorobreds’ depth and pressure defense was too much for the Flyers as the Breds led 23-10 at the end of the first period.
It only got worse for Franklin County as Harrison County outscored them to start the second period by a 13-to-five margin in the first four minutes of the stanza and by halftime the score doubled at 46-23.
