The Harrison County Fiscal Court chose its annual meeting in Berry Tuesday to make another six-month financial commitment to the Berry Data Center.
While the motion passed to pick up the $28,400 tab, three magistrates voted against the proposal.
“A kid in Kelat should have the same opportunities as a kid in Berry,” said magistrate Bradley Copes prior to his “no” vote. “Education should be up to the school board; information should be the library. The fiscal court is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure of this county.”
