  • Christmas parade cancelled

    The Dec. 7 Cynthiana Christmas parade was cancelled. Chamber director Pat Grenier said the Chamber board voted to postpone the parade until next Saturday, Dec. 14. 

    She said that because many holiday events are already underway the parade time may change to accommodate those who have evening plans. That decision will be made later.

  • Misdemeanor warrant results in heroin charge

    A Cynthiana man was arrested last week after being served a misdemeanor warrant and was allegedly found with heroin in his pocket.

    Cynthiana Police Sgt. Wilbur Gross and Cpl. Walter Tapp saw Matthew Sumpter, 32, inside Thrift Food Mart about 1 p.m. Tuesday and suspected there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a no operator’s license charge.
