  • Cynthiana Police Department

    Case reports
    March 23 – At 11:21 a.m., police were advised of a man on Elm Street holding a gun and claiming that he was going to shoot himself. A mall child was present and her father was concerned about her safety. He came from Louisville to make sure the girl was alright. It was later determined that the child and her mother had moved out of the Elm Street house and were no longer living there.

    Traffic Cases
    The following information from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office indicates drivers and/or owners whose vehicles were involved in accidents.
    March 20 – At 10:40 p.m., a non-injury accident was reported on Grover Criswell Road. David Baker was driving on Grover Criswell Road when his truck caught on fire. Baker fled the accident before authorities arrived.
    April 4 – At 5:20 p.m., an injury accident was reported on KY 3003. Leandra Bryant rounded a curve and lost control sending her into a guardrail.

    March 16 – At 10:19 p.m., Anna M. Ishmael, Berry, reported that her rental home on Old Lair Road was damaged and appliances were taken. The value of the missing or damaged property is $2,500.
    March 16 – At 10:43 a.m., John Nichols, of the Cynthiana Pawn Shop, 318 Church St., reported that two women came into the store. While one talked with Nichols at the front counter, the other went to the back and took items from the shelf, leaving the store without paying.

    March 23 – At 3:10 p.m., an injury accident was reported on KY 1032. Albert Alcorn was parked on KY 1032 because he ran out of fuel and was struck by a vehicle driven by Melissa Lawrence.
    March 28 – At 3:20 p.m., a non-injury accident was reported on KY 1842. Jeffery Wurtz rounded a curve and was hit head on by a vehicle driven by Charles Jones.
    March 27 – At 5:25 a.m., a non-injury accident was reported on KY 1842. Stephanie Neace struck a deer.
