  • Courthouse renovation complete

    The majority of the Harrison County Courthouse renovation is complete. County offices, beginning with the judge-executive and his staff, will begin occupying the building as early as next week, according to Judge Executive Alex Barnett.
    Actual costs to renovate the courthouse exceeded the cushion figured into the original project estimate, Barnett said. The overruns involved a number of small details, such as window blinds, a refrigerator, desks and miscellaneous office equipment, that ended up being a larger figure than anticipated, he said.

  • Fast Max robbery suspect arrested

    Less than 24 hours after Cynthiana's Fast Max was robbed, police have a suspect in custody.

    Zachary Massey, 24, Cynthiana, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with first degree robbery. 

    Fast Max was robbed Wednesday night for a second time within the last three months.

    Cynthiana's Fast Max was robbed Wednesday night for a second time within the last three months.

    Cynthiana E911 was notified at 5:41 p.m. by the clerk at Fast Max that the store had been robbed. Fast Max is located on U.S. 27 South at KY 32.


    Details of the robbery have not been released pending the outcome of an on-going investigation.

    Det. Alan Judy with the Cynthiana Police Department said police are continuing to review security videos and interview possible witnesses.
