    Fall craft fair at Farmers’ Market  on Sept. 28
    The Harrison County Farmers’ Market will host a fall craft fair on Saturday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.  Vendors can set up after 7:30 a.m. The fee for setting up is $15 payable upon arrival and at which time vendors will be given a booth assignment. Electric is available, however, vendors must bring their own tent, tables, chairs and electrical cords.

  • Clothing Closet announces needs

    The Harrison County Clothing Closet is in desperate need of new socks and new underwear of all sizes, said Linda McGowen, director of the closet.

    The facility is located in the house adjacent to the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church.

  • Hatter receives Frankfort appointment

    Gov. Beshear has appointed Harland C. Hatter to the Waste Tire Working Group to serve for a term expiring Aug. 1, 2016.

    Hatter of Cynthiana is deputy director of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. He represents the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. The appointment replaces John C. Roberts, whose term has expired.

  • Remembering Sept. 11, 2001, ceremony to be held

    The Harrison County Fire Protection District will host a Remembering Sept. 11, 2001, ceremony at the new memorial on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 8:30 a.m.

    At 8:46 a.m. there will be a moment of silence at which time Harrison County Fire Chief Charles Allen Carson will ring the bell to remember and honor the innocent lives of those who were lost during the terrorist attacks on America the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.

  • Another 4% increase passed by school board


    By a unanimous vote, Harrison County’s school taxes will increase again this year.

    The board opted to move forward with an increase that will generate 4 percent more income for the district than last year.

    Six people were named in nine indictments issued by the Harrison County grand jury on Tuesday.

    Steven Price, 24, was named in two indictments totaling 15 counts.

    The harriCYN community theatre will get all of you, you sweet pretties — and your little dogs too! — when they toss three famous musicals about the land of Oz into a bucket of water and melt them into one Wicked Evening of Songs this weekend.

    The music showcase is an original review the community theater group put together in response to audience demand for similar type shows.
