  • Middle and high school KMEA All-State Chorus

    Approximately 1,200 vocalists across the state competed for slots in the Kentucky Music Educators Association’s 2013 High School All-State Choirs. Students in grades 10-12 auditioned in quartets – all performing the same piece, sung a cappella; they also had to sight-sing.

    These Cynthiana students made the Dean’s List for fall 2012 at Georgetown College.
    The Dean’s List honors undergraduate students who completed the semester with at least 12 credit hours and a 3.7 GPA, according to Rosemary Allen, Ph.D., Georgetown College’s Provost and Academic Dean.
    Katelyn J. Groom, Julie Rene Henson, Emily R. Kendall and Ethan Sullivan Smith were all named to the Dean’s List.

  • Two students named First Chance Scholarship recipients at LVC

    The quest for funding for a college degree can be a difficult and long journey.  
    This year, two students from the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College have discovered treasure in their search.  The First Chance Scholarship fund committee announces Veronica Anderson and Timothy Wilson as its choice of scholarship recipients for the spring semester at LVC.
    Veronica Anderson was born in Pike County and has lived in Cynthiana for 14 years.

    Tonya Canafax, a resident of Berry, KY, was among over 500 students from Thomas More College who made the Fall Dean’s List.

    JENKINS
    Weston Jenkins, son of Dwayne and Trish Jenkins of Cynthiana, was named to the President’s List at Eastern Kentucky University for the fall 2012 semester.
    Jenkins earned a 4.0 grade point average during the semester.
