• Lawler has been appointed as LVC’s academic coordinator

    As a result of his passion for teaching, David Lawler, was appointed to be the academic coordinator during the fall of 2012.  
    He has been a full time professor of biology and math at the Licking Valley Campus since August 2001.  
    Lawler continues to teach biology and said, “I have a passion for my material and when you have students that want to learn, then it’s rewarding when they reflect that back to you.”

  • MCTC/LVC demonstrates nursing simulation to CHP Employer Advisory Committee at May meeting

    MCTC/Licking Valley Campus hosted the Community Health Partnership Employer Advisory Committee meeting on Wednesday, May 8.  
    The meeting was held at the campus in the nursing simulation lab in the Health Sciences Wing and the hosts were college faculty, staff and student representatives.   
    The CHP Employer Advisory  is comprised of a group of physicians, hospital staff members, city and county government officials and other employers. The group has been meeting quarterly since 1999.

    Midway College announces those students who received their nursing pins during a ceremony held Friday, May 10 inside the Duthie Auditorium on Midway’s campus.
    Thirty-four students earned their Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and 19 students earned their Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).
    During the ceremony several Midway College nursing students also received honors and awards including:

  • Technical students inducted into honor society

    Technical schools across the nation nominate students for admission into the National Technical Honor Society.
    At Harrison ATC, only one student per program is nominated for admission to the NTHS and must meet a series of rigorous standards. Each candidate must have a 95 percent attendance rate, maintain a 3.0 grade point average, demonstrate school and community involvement, and compose a thoughtful essay describing their future career plans.

  • LVC/MCTC holds graduation and awards program May 2

    The Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College held its annual graduation celebration and awards program on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Prizing House in Cynthiana.  
    The evening was filled with music, food and honors for MCTC/LVC graduates.
    The program opened with the LVC choir singing “My Old Kentucky Home” and a welcome from Bruce Florence.
    Remarks were offered by Dr. Juston Pate, Chief Academic Officer, who bestowed the honor awards on the winning recipients.

    Brooke Razor graduated Summa Cum Laude on Sunday, May 5 from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy.  
    Razor has received a full tuition merit scholarship from Villanova Law School, and will begin her studies in Philadelphia in the fall.
    She is the daughter of Bow and Lynne Switzer and a 2009 graduate of Harrison County High School.
