  • Madison Stephens

    Madison M. Stephens of Cynthiana, has been initiated into the Iota Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron national honor society at the University of Kentucky.
    Stephens is a student majoring in Merchandising Apparel and Textiles at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.
    Stephens is the daughter of Shain and Rebecca Stephens of Cynthiana.
    Phi Upsilon Omicron recognizes and encourages achieved excellence in scholarship, leadership and service for students in family and consumer sciences and its related areas.

  • MCTC honors new Hall of Fame alumni

    Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) is honoring new Hall of Fame alumni Adrene Commodore.
    As part of the Super Sunday initiative, Maysville Community and Technical College has nominated members to its Hall of Fame to highlight outstanding African-American alumni.
    Adrene Commodore went to Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) with the intention of taking one nurse aide course. She needed the skills to help take care of an ailing mother.  

  • Boyers selected to participate in All-State Bands and Orchestra

    On Feb. 12, the Kentucky Music Educators Association closed its annual music teachers conference with performances by the All-State Bands and Orchestra.  
    For the second year in a row, Harrison County High School band student Lucinda Boyers was selected to participate.  
    “We could not be more proud of Lucinda,” said band director John Merz. “She is such a fine player and always represents our school and our band at the highest levels.”
