• MCTC/LVC announces new instructor

    Paul Burgess is the new instructor of reading and writing at the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College.  
    Burgess will be teaching such courses as English 101 and 102, Reading 20 and 30, Developmental Writing ENC 90 and 91. Burgess will also be designing some literature courses to teach.  
    Burgess is originally from Hilton Head Island, S.C. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in English and Spanish from the University of South Carolina in Beaufort and a Masters in Renaissance Literature from the University of Alabama.

    Cadet Andrea Kristine Leah Steinke, daughter of Rev. Dr. Gordon and Betty Lee Steinke of Farmington Hills, Mich., and granddaughter of Jim and June Lee of Cynthiana completed Cadet Basic Training (CBT) at the U.S. Military Academy.
    Steinke entered West Point on July 1 and has successfully completed six weeks of CBT. CBT is one of the most challenging events a cadet will encounter over the course of their four years at the academy.

  • KFC grants awarded

    Mike, Teresa, Charlie, and Nichole Davis of KFC of Cynthiana, announce that two employees, Jordan Humphries and Marie Otero, of this franchise have received the REACH-KFC Foundation Grant.  
    KFC Foundation is a charitable organization inspired by the legacy of Col. Harland Sanders to promote his belief in integrity, determination, passion and giving back to one’s community.

    The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) announce Harrison County High School student Dora Wagner of Cynthiana, has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization. The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment. The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior membr of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.

  • Kinney selected as new community education, service coordinator for MCTC/LVC campus extension

    Lenora Kinney is now serving MCTC/Licking Valley Campus as the Community Education and Community Service coordinator.  
    She has just begun her new duties at the campus extension at Harrison Square.  
    Kinney grew up in Cynthiana and graduated from Harrison High School.  
    She graduated from  Maysville Community and Technical College in 1996 with an associate’s degree in business management.
    She followed this educational effort by enrolling with Midway College studying for a bachelor’s degree in organizational management.

  • MCTC/LVC holds first Career Craze event

    Cynthiana students learned a variety of healthcare careers at the Licking Valley Campus Career Craze. There were many hands on activities throughout the week to make this an invaluable learning experience. Career Craze was attended by middle school students in grades 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th.
