  • Cynthiana Lions Club presents Youth Day

    The Cynthiana Lions Club introduced nearly 35 students to county and city government and the jobs they do during its annual Youth Day on April 5.
    Faculty sponsor Josh Powers, said he could not have asked for a better opportunity for the kids to learn.
    “The Lions Club allowed our kids to catch a glimpse of some of the challenges our officials deal with each day,” said Powers. “Without them sponsoring this event, it would not have been possible.”

    Cynthiana resident Felicia Helvey has been named to the Fall 2010 Dean’s List at Berea College. A student is named to the Dean’s List who achieves a GPA of 3.2 or higher for a minimum course load equivalent to 16 semester hours.

  • HCMS students represent well at mock UN

    Harrison County Middle School attended KUNA (Kentucky United Nations Assembly) March 13-15.
    Several schools gathered to represent a specific country. Harrison County represented both Zimbabwe and Turkmenistan. On the first night of KUNA everyone setup their displays that represented their countries. All the displays were arranged in one room called the Global Village.
    Each student wore native dress for his or her country.
