  • Groundbreaking ceremony held for new BCTC campus in Georgetown

    On a beautiful Monday afternoon, ground was broken on a new Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) campus that will house not only the Advanced Manufacturing Center for high-skills jobs training in Central Kentucky, but will also support higher education in Georgetown and Scott County and the surrounding communities.

  • UPIKE entrepreneurs advance to state finals

    Two University of Pikeville student teams are advancing to the state finals after winning at the Idea State U regional business plan competition in Hazard, Ky.  
    Competition included written formal business models and business plans and a 15-minute oral presentation. UPIKE joined Morehead State University, Eastern Kentucky University, Berea College and Union College in the event.

  • Graduate Dean’s Scholars Honored
  • LVC to host a Fast Start study program this summer

    Fast Start is a program designed to allow students, a free one week intensive study in Reading, Writing, and Math if the student has a score on the COMPASS that require them to take developmental classes. At the end of the course, students will retake the COMPASS exam to see if they have now tested out of a subject area.
    This workshop will be offered at the Licking Valley Campus this summer Monday through Friday, May 18-22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Free lunch and a snack will be provided.
