Education

  • Business classes are beneficial to students regardless of career choice

    No matter what career path a student chooses, having financial literacy is an important part of the education process. The Harrison County Area Technology Center has a variety of courses tailored to just those needs.
    The school offers courses in Business Law, Business Principles, Marketing and Business Management. Instructors Louise Jackson and Sean Murphy said any student in the school system can benefit from taking at least one of them.

  • Piano students perform spring recital May 4

    The piano students of Dr. Beth Laytart presented a spring recital at the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church on Sunday, May 4. Sixteen students participated, including Kaitlin Barry, Lucy Barry, Ava Craig, John Allen Craig, Dylan Etienne, Andra Gaunce, Elijah Harris, Kori Lyons, Anna Blake McDaniel, Olivia Moore, Claire Morgan-Sanders, Abigail Rion, Rachel Rion, Harry Smith, Ross Smith and Kayla York.

  • MCTC/LVC holds graduation, awards ceremony May 8

    The student awards ceremony for the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College took place on Thursday, May 8, at The Prizing House.  
    The night was filled with recognition of graduates and honor awards, outstanding GPA awards, and the Slone-Crumbie 110 percent award.  
    Sandy Power, interim Director of Financial Aid and Assistant Branch Campus Director led the audience in “My Old Kentucky Home” and “Hilltop Days.”
