  • HCMS bands receive distinguished ratings

    The Harrison County Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Bands performed at Singletary Center for the Arts in Lexington, Ky. on March 13 for the 7th District Kentucky Music Educator’s Band Assessment. This 96 member ensemble performed Too Beautiful for Words by Rob Grice and The Secrets of McDougal’s Cave by Ed Huckeby.
    The ensemble received two Distinguished and one Distinguish plus rating from their adjudicators.
    The band is under the direction of Julie Lucky.

  • McCory, one smart student

    When MCTC-Licking Valley Campus faculty members and fellow students look at Veronica McCrory, they can’t help but think of her as ‘the smart one.’ And they aren’t far from the truth.
    McCrory has proven her reputation as a stellar student with a 4.0 grade point average, and with her involvement in campus student groups.
    McCrory, a Cynthiana native, enrolled in classes for the Medical Billing and Coding program in 2005, the first year that LVC offered such a program.

  • HCHS accepting nominations for Site Based Decision Making Council

    Starting Monday, March 25, Harrison County High School will be accepting nominations for Parent and Teacher Site Based Decision Making Council positions for the 2013-14 school year. If you are interested in serving as a teacher member, fill out a Teacher Nomination form and return it to the front office at HCHS in a sealed envelope. Deadline for submission will be Friday, March 29 at 3 p.m. Elections will take place on Monday, April 8 at 3:30 p.m. in the HCHS Library.
