    Bellarmine University has named Aaron Williams and Jessica Whelan to its dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who receive a grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.
    The following local residents were named to the fall dean’s list:
    •Cynthiana resident Aaron Williams, a senior who is majoring in political science, and previously attended Harrison County High School; and

    The University of Louisville released the names of students who achieved its dean’s list for the Fall 2012 semester.
    Included on the list are Harrison County residents: Rachel Marie Ammerman and Amber Lee Campbell
    To achieve dean’s list, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average.

    Augustus Madsen, a sophomore at Harrison County High School, has been accepted to the 2015 class at The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science-a residential high school on the campus of WKU in Bowling Green.
    The Gatton Academy selected 70 Kentucky residents this year to attend the program.
    Gatton Academy applicants are high school sophomores who will have completed geometry, algebra I and algebra II by the end of their sophomore year.

  • HCHS speech team finishes fifth in the KHSSL state tournament last weekend

    Harrison County High School’s defending state speech champion in dramatic interpretation is now a two-time state champ. Jackson Sanders earned his second title in impromptu speaking at last weekend’s state tournament in Lexington.
    Also, last year’s state champion in declamation, Erin Bradford finished in the top two this year.

    MCTC-Licking Valley Campus is proud to announce that the Fall 2012 edition of Life’s Vivid Creations has arrived.  
    Life’s Vivid Creations, the campus literary journal, is published bi-annually and the Fall edition includes winners from the 2012 Licking River Writers Writing Contest.

    Harrison County High School graduate Devon Dodson is one of 60 Bluegrass Community and Technical College students who have been nominated to the prestigious 2013 edition of the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
    Dodson was nominated to the long-standing honors program for 2013.
