    The Flower
    A flower,
Sitting on a wooden table top,
    Full of color and joy.

Slowly one by one the petals begin to fall,
Slowly to the wooden table top.
Each a withered husk of its former self.
Each lost its color and joy.
    Each to be forever gone.
Each falling until there was only one left.

She stared down at her fallen friends.
There is nothing she can do for them.
Her colors have left her a long time ago.
Now she is nothing but a fragile shell.
