    Kelsi Strawzell graduated May 11, 2013, suma cum laude from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. She was an honor’s scholar, a Campus Crusade for Christ leader, and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta.
    She is the daughter of Steve and Rhonda Strawzell, granddaughter of Charlie Cooper and the late Norma Cooper of Cynthiana and Lola Strawzell of Redwood Falls, Minn.

    EKU DEAN’S LIST
    Eastern Kentucky University has announced 338 Dean’s Award recipients for the Spring 2013 semester.
    Award recipients include:
    Megan Nicole Perrin of Berry, a senior Public Relations major
    Jeff Alan Seivers of Cynthiana, a senior Homeland Security major
    Michael Spencer Stone of Cynthiana, a senior Music major.

  • MCTCS Licking Valley Campus welcomes intim director of financial aid and assistant campus director

    Sandy Power wanted an education and she got started right here at home in Cynthiana.  
    Now with a master’s degree, Power is currently the interim director of financial aid and the assistant campus director of the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College.   
    She received an associates in arts degree from MCTC in 1997.  She continued to pursue higher education and received her bachelor’s degree in 1999 from Midway College in organizational management.

    On May 24, 2013, Logan Duncan received his diploma for the Combination Structural and Pipe Welding Program from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology located in Troy, Ohio. After successfully completing a nine-month program, Duncan holds certificates in GTAW, SMAW and FCAW as an AWS Certified Welder.
    He is the son of Gary and Teresa Duncan.

    Mari Kaitlin Palmer of Sadieville, senior, Anderson County High School graduate majoring in Wildlife Management

    Adam T. Cunningham of Berry graduated from Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy during spring commencement. Cunningham earned a Doctor of Pharmacy.
    Cunningham is the son of Steve and Pam Cunningham, Berry.

  • LVC hosts reception for writing competition finalist

    The 2013 Finalist Reception for the fifth annual Licking River Writers Writing Competition took place at the Licking Valley Campus on Thursday, June 13.
    The winners of each individual contest will be announced and cash prizes awarded at the fifth annual LVC Writers Conference Gala to be held on Friday, Sept. 27.
    The evening began with a welcome by Sandy Power, interim director for financial aid, and opening words by Kristy Horine, contest coordinator.
