  • LVC to host a poetry reading Nov. 19

    The Licking Valley Campus library will be hosting a poetry reading featuring celebrated author, George Ella Lyon and MCTC Professor and distinguished writer, Dr. Lynn Shaffer.  
    The public is invited to attend this special reading on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the LVC library at 11 a.m. or 5:30 p.m.  Both poets will share poetry from their recently published books.
    Refreshments will be served.

  • MCTC hosting instand admission day Nov. 22

    “If you have been thinking about starting or returning to college, you can take part in Instant Admissions Day and be ready to start classes in January with one just one visit to our college,” said Dr. Ed Story, MCTC President.
    Instant Admissions Day is a new program to help students enroll in classes fast by completing the Compass test, transcript evaluation, advising, registration and the financial aid application in just one visit to the nearest MCTC campus.

  • HCHS team competes in two tournaments

    The Harrison County High School speech team competed in the Murray/LaRue Swing Tournament on Nov. 3.  
    The students actually compete in two tournaments at one time. Some students performed 16 times in one day.
    The team received a fourth place at Murray and a fourth place at LaRue out of 20 teams.
    “This is remarkable as only six members of the team were able to compete on Saturday,” said Laura Sanders, speech coach.
