  • Opell recognized as Kentucky’s 2013 Psychologist of the Year

    Jefferson County School Psychologist Bethanie Brogli Opell was recognized as the 2013 Kentucky School Psychologist of the year during the recent Kentucky Association for Psychology in the Schools (KAPS) conference.
    Opell received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She went on to further her education by earning her Masters and Ed.S. in School Psychology, also from the University of Kentucky.

  • Teen court offers glimpse into judicial system

    Forty-five Harrison County students who have completed Teen Court training were sworn in as officers of their county court Thursday, Sept. 26.
    District Court Judge Bill Kuster, who serves Harrison, Pendleton, Nicholas, and Robertson counties and oversees the local Teen Court program, performed the ceremony at the Harrison County Justice Center.  
    Teen Court members performed two mock trials for the audience, and Circuit Judge Jay Delaney served as speaker for the event.

    SANDERS
    The Western Kentucky University forensics team traveled Oxford, Ohio, to take part in a tournament the weekend of Sept. 28-29.
    Jackson Sanders, a freshman from Cynthiana, earned a fourth in after-dinner speaking and fourth in dramatic interpretation.

  • Leadership Development class to be offered Oct. 8-Nov. 26 at LVC Extension

    A Leadership Development class will be held on Tuesdays, Oct. 8 through Nov. 26 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Licking Valley Campus Extension.  
    Michael Tally, instructor, will provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and potential. Students will earn three credit hours for this class.
