  • Walker begins her degree at MCTC/LVC

    Melinda Walker, MCTC assistant professor of psychology,  teaches general, developmental, and abnormal psychology classes online and in person at the Licking Valley Campus and the Donald W. Kiser--Paris Extension.  

  • Dual credit classes are available at MCTC/LVC

    Dual Credit classes are one of the many educational opportunities available on the hilltop.  
    This means that high school juniors and seniors may take classes through Maysville Community and Technical College/Licking Valley Campus.  
    Dual credit classes are an advantage to students because they may take the class for high school graduation and earn hours toward a college degree.

  • MCTC first Kentucky community college to begin a NAMI on Campus organization

    The student organization NAMI On Campus, is a branch of the National Alliance of Mental Illness.
    This semester, Maysville Community and Technical College  will be the first community college campus to begin a NAMI on Campus organization. The group is having its inaugural meeting this semester.  
    There is only one other NAMI on Campus organization in Kentucky and it is on the U.K. campus.
    The mission of NAMI On Campus MCTC is to:
    1. Educate and increase awareness of mental health issues for students, faculty, and staff of MCTC.

  • ATC welding program gets new instructor

    Kentucky Tech – Harrison Area Center has hired Michael Tuel as its new welding instructor.
    Tuel worked in industry for 15 years. His experience is primarily in custom fabrication – helping customers fulfill their vision of unique, new products.
    Tuel discussed his excitement for preparing young welders.
    “I’m excited to see the boys and gals get up to an industry standard with their welding,” said Tuel.

    We find more and more that the good jobs require better education credentialing, and those who live in the Licking Valley have a golden opportunity to add to their college credits by taking classes right here at home. Maysville Community and Technical College/Licking Valley Campus (MCTC/LVC) continues to work to find ways to offer classes that fit college work into busy people’s schedules.
