    He may not go so far as to say he’s completely turning in his Wranglers and boots for khakis and ties, but Todd Brannock is moving from agriculture to administration.

  • 2013 Jim Claypool Conservation Art and Writing contest winners named

    Mission: H2O!  This was the theme for the 2013 Jim Claypool Conservation Art and Writing Contest sponsored by the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts.
    This year, every school in the county participated in the contests.  
    There were 206 entries in the writing contest between the middle school and high school, and 335 entries in the art contest from every elementary school.

    HICKS
    Annastasia Hicks has been named to the Dean’s List for the winter/spring terms at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average.
    Hicks is the daughter of John and Tamera Hicks of Cynthiana and is a graduate of Harrison County High School.

    Maysville Community and Technical College releases the Dean’s and President’s Honors List for full and part-time students for the Spring 2014 semester.

    ANDERSON
    Karissa Lee Anderson of Cynthiana is one of 365 Eastern Kentucky University Dean’s Award recipients for the Spring 2014 semester.
    Anderson is a senior Psychology major at EKU.
    To earn the Dean’s Award, students must achieve Dean’s List honors at EKU for three semesters, not necessarily consecutive. A lapel pin is presented to students by the dean of their academic college.

  • Barrett attends MCTC/LVC for her registered nurse’s degree

    April Barrett, a Cynthiana native, graduated from Maysville Community and Technical College Licking Valley Campus in May with an Associate in Science degree in Registered Nursing.  
    Barrett passed her nursing boards June 5 and became an official registered nurse. She is employed at UK Health Care as an RN in Lexington.   
    Barrett received her GED in 2008. She had wanted to be a nurse for a long time, but the goal seemed so difficult and far away. In the summer of 2011, she decided to attend MCTC/Licking Valley Campus.
