  • MCTC-LVC nursing students earn 100 percent NCLEX pass rate

    The Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College received notification from the Kentucky Board of Nursing that of the 17 students who took the NCLEX exam, 100 percent passed.
    The NCLEX exam, also known as the National Council Licensure Examination, is a standardized exam that each state board of nursing uses to determine whether or not a candidate is prepared for entry-level nursing practice. The exam is taken after students successfully complete an accredited nursing degree.

    U.S. Air Force Airman Nathan R. Lopez graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
    The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
    Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

  • KCTCS sponsoring survey to identify workforce needs

    The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is part of a statewide group sponsoring a Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) survey called Bridging the Talent Gap. The survey will help identify skill shortages in the state. The data gleaned from this survey will assist KCTCS and other education providers to better understand workforce and education needs.
