  • HCHS Speech Team makes grand showing in Northern Kentucky

    Harrison County High School Speech Team attended its first tournament of the season in Northern Kentucky at Boone County High School on Saturday, Oct. 18. Since this was a swing tournament hosted by Boone and Ryle high schools, the students were able to compete in two tournaments in one day.  
    The team took only five members to this early bird tournament and brought home a total of five-first place awards.  
    Harrison County shut out the poetry event by  capturing the top three places in the Boone half of the tournament.

  • MCTC/LVC hosting instant admissions on Nov. 14

    Change your life in an instant at Instant Admissions Day at the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College on Friday, Nov. 14.
    “If you have been thinking about starting or returning to college, you can take part in Instant Admissions Day and be ready to start classes in January with just one visit to our college,” said Dr. Ed Story, MCTC President.

  • MCTC/LVC was a stepping stone in Fryman’s nursing career

    Eugonda Fryman of Carlisle started her college education at the MCTC/Licking Valley Campus. She is now a APRN FNP (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Family Nurse Practitioner).  
    In April 2014, she graduated with a 3.85 GPA from Walden University with a master’s of science in nursing.

  • Registered nursing pre-admission begins next week at the Licking Valley Campus of MCTC

    The Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College announces the pre-admission conference dates for students beginning the registered nursing program for the fall 2015.
    They are Oct. 22 from 2 to 3 p.m., Nov. 4 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Nov. 26 from 2 to 3 p.m., Jan. 21 from 2 to 3 p.m., Feb. 6 from 2 to 3 p.m., and Feb. 25 from 2 to 3 p.m.

  • Two HCHS students take advantage of dual credit classes offered through MCTC/LVC

    Millie Wiglesworth, a junior at Harrison County High School, and Kiana Walker, a senior at HCHS, are two students taking advantage of the opportunity to take dual credit classes on the Hilltop.  
    Taking a dual credit class means that high school juniors and seniors may take classes through Maysville Community and Technical College/Licking Valley Campus.  Juniors and seniors may take the class for high school graduation while earning hours toward a college degree.
