• Community & Employment Opportunities expands services in assisting persons with disabilities

    Community & Employment Opportunities (CEO) has expanded its services in Harrison, Scott and Bourbon counties. In addition to working with persons with intellectual disabilities, CEO can now assist persons with other types of disabilities.
    CEO is a local non-profit employment agency that specializes in helping individuals who need assistance in finding and continuing in employment.

    October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

    Individuals and businesses have become targets to a growing online fraud scheme known as ransomware. Ransomware is a form of malware used by cyber criminals to freeze your computer or mobile device, steal your data and demand a “ransom” -  typically anywhere from a couple of hundreds to thousands of dollars - be paid.
    Ransomware poses great risks to individual computers or laptops, enterprise networks and or servers used by government agencies, financial institutions and other businesses.

  • HMH Physical Therapist, Phil Williams, receives wound specialist certification

    Harrison Memorial Hospital Physical Therapist, Phil Williams, PT, is now Certified Wound Specialist (CWS). This is an important accomplishment achieved through hours of hard work in preparation for the CWS® Examination.

  • Sheriff Shain Stephens elected to serve on the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association Board of Directors

    The Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association held their 87th annual Conference in Owensboro, Ky., Sept. 12-16. This year’s conference was well attended with over 100 sheriffs in attendance and over 150 sheriffs and deputies participating in 40 hours of training.

    According to Jerry Wagner, Executive  Director of the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association, “Harrison County Sheriff Shain Stephens was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association in 2017.”

  • Cynthiana Tractor Supply to celebrate pets during Pet Appreciation Week


    If you’re a proud pet owner or would like to be, mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 17 when the Tractor Supply Co. store in Cynthiana will be celebrating your furry friends for Pet Appreciation Week’s main event.

    The main event will include pet adoptions with community groups, samples, giveaways, drawings for gift cards, and other family friendly activities. In addition, deals on pet products, from food and treats to toys and crates, will be featured from Sept. 14-18.

  • Madan Reddy joins HMH active staff

     The staff of Harrison Memorial Hospital  announces the addition of Madan Mohan Reddy, M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Reddy specializes in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine and is currently accepting new patients.

    Orthopaedic surgery deals with problems that develop in the bones, joints, and ligaments of the human body.

    He has joined orthopaedic and sports medicine surgeon James Pettey, M.D., in providing full-service orthopaedic surgical services at Harrison Memorial Hospital in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Kentucky’s Child Care Assistance Program gets increase in funding; more families qualify for aid

    More Kentucky families qualify for financial aid to pay for child care because of an increase in funding approved by the 2016 General Assembly.

    The income guidelines used to determine eligibility for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) have moved from the 2011 Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG) to the 2016 Federal Poverty Guidelines. The higher income requirement will increase the number of families who qualify for assistance. The change took effect Sept. 1.

    In an effort to extend services into the communities we serve, Harrison Memorial Hospital announces an additional outpatient service, occupational therapy, at the HMH Outpatient Services Clinic in Carlisle.

  • Blue Grass Airport announces year-round Minneapolis/St. Paul service on Delta air lines

    Blue Grass Airport (LEX) and Delta Air Lines, Lexington, Ky., announces that it will soon have non-stop, year-round service to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) beginning Oct. 29, 2016. Currently offered seasonally from June through October, the Twin Cities has been a strong destination for the Lexington community and serves as a connection point to international destinations. The flight will now be offered daily year-round and will offer travelers more than 60 onward connections to more than 45 destinations.
